ET:QW neue Facts

hier gibt's neue facts, hab ich von diversen links rauskopiert:

* The Strogg army is invading with radical new technology raining down fire on Earth

* Every map has a mission objective for the human and Strogg sides, as they fight for certain zones in the map. There's no flag capturing here, but building or destroying structures, that sort of thing.

=> kein battlefield shit :)

* storyline for each level, creating a fuller sense of purpose

* If they see a human waiting to be revived they can suck health out of him for their own use, or even set the body up as a spawn host. If they see a human waiting to be revived they can suck health out of him for their own use, or even set the body up as a spawn host. The Strogg being spawned would then be ideal for the infiltration class (a la Quake 4).

* There is base building in the game as well. There are several kind of deployables which allow you to reinforce your base. Deployables include artillery guns, radar and base defense turrets.

* An example scenario we were given was the earth forces trying to establish a new base across a map. The earth forces would need to escort the huge mobile base convoy and clear the path to a destination. Smaller objectives along the way would be things like building a bridge or destroying particular defense structures.

* It's important to the designers that you can have fun on foot as well, and they are ensuring that sometimes it's easier to get to an objective by foot than using a vehicle.

* Besides the MegaTexture technology, Quake Wars also has improved netcode to allow for more players. A new physics system in place as well. Let's just say you expect to see a lot of Quake Wars stunt videos. Individual wheels can come off, you can rig a vehicle with explosives, you can do donuts, drive a car on its side with two wheels, do barrel rolls in airplanes, etc, etc.

* maps are being designed for 24-32 players

* Quake Wars includes plenty of air vehicles

* many varied environments, several of which will be outdoor areas

* Unlike other games like the Tribes and Battlefield series which have some kind of bots for training or offline multiplayer Wedgewood told us that the game will instead give new players some simple training missions in the multiplayer online battles themselves.

* The Earth forces have weapons and items that will be more conventional (tanks, rifles) while the Strogg have more sci-fi type weapons.

* However, asymetrical in this case doesn't mean unbalanced. One example from Wedgewood is the Strogg Goliath, the huge walker like vehicle that was seen in the first trailer to the game. The Goliath is a huge and powerful weapons platform but according to Wedgewood "You can't turn on a dime in a walker' which may give the smaller and less powerful Human tank an edge as it can turn much more quickly in a firefight.

* the game's enviroments actually affect gameplay. Some surfaces will be harder to drive on than others making the choice of driving a vehicle designed for on or off-road use important.

* "megatexture" technology developed by John Carmack, of id Software, that will let the developers create environments that render terrain all the way out to the horizon

* These maps will be divided into territories, and you'll have specific objectives to be accomplished in each one. The flow of battle will always lead through these so you'll know exactly where the combat will be. The progression through these areas will depend on who wins each match. If the Strogg win, your next match will be different than if the Marines do.

* Vehicles will be a fun and important part of Quake Wars. Most of them have been designed with two players in mind -- one at the wheel and the other manning the weaponry.

Bis auf das arcade verhalten find ich battlefield eigentlich sehr gut.
Und ET:QW scheint fast genauso zu werden, gibt auch einen medic mit defilibrator und ingeneur usw.
Das beste an BF is das es sehr selten solch flamer gibt wie bei cs oder so.
Ich freue mich sehr auf ET QW, auch wenn der trailer etwas gestellt wirkte.
:stolz:
