hallo liebe Leuts ich habe die letzten Tage ein bisschen lange weile geschoben und den guten alten Software renderer von Quake 2 mal
ein bisschen geändert, herausgekommen ist eine kleine Beta version zum antesten hier also der download und noch ein paar infos
zu guter letzt noch 2 ingame eindrücke:

Q2K:SWX

Q2K:SWX is an modified version of the quake 2 mingw source (by Ben Lane).Basically
its the same with an enhanced software renderer to support some cool new features.
The Goal is to create a cool new version of quake 2 and still keep the retro look
of a Software renderer :-)
(note: this is just a testversion to see if the current features work correctly
feel free to send me an pm (quakedev.com: eltrollo, doom3maps.org: eltrollo) if
you jump into a bug)

-Softwarerenderer only
-tga,jpg,png,bmp texture loading
Planned Stuff:
-better lightmap Blending
for some reason they sometimes look simply like they shouldnt ... gotta fix this
-32 bit Particle System
the idea is to add support for 32-bit Textures here so NormalMaps can be used
for refractions, however the resulting colour will still be 8-bit
-massive decals
remember the good old stainmapping? Well,why not use a highres version to place
an endless amount of decals??
-fixing the alpha textures
this surely is a great issue and makes water/glass etc look much better (must have)
-md3 support
a good deathmatch game needs a large scale of avaiable models for the user so i'll
add support for q3 playermodels :-) (klesk im comin)
-xml gui system
well what do you think this is ... lol
-32 bit colours
i may add this one but dont ask meh when , all i can say is that it might be
useful for features that may come in future, but till now it doesnt rly matter to meh
more may come soon

All nonrendering Bugs from q2mingw
All rendering Bugs from quake 2
Textures cant be loaded from an pak file
ModelSkins sometimes look wierd with new Textures
